The Logical Framework Approach To Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation |
||||
Maximising Project Success by design
In today’s dynamic world, controlling business or organisational
activity by projects is an ever-increasing practice. In this context, a project
is any business or organisational activity that must be delivered within time
and budget constraints.
Progressive organisations are now taking control of these activities by
applying Project Management techniques. This has resulted in an increasing
number of soft projects such as "changing the culture in an
organisation". To maximise the success of such
projects they need to be well defined and have a strong
design, which has the common agreement
of the key stakeholders. This is the aim of The Logical Framework Methodology.
The Logical Framework
The Logical Framework (LogFrame) is a project improvement tool that has
the power to communicate a complex and costly project clearly and
understandably on a single sheet of paper. It is used during project planning
to develop the overall design of a project. The LogFrame is also used as a tool
to improve project implementation, planning, monitoring and evaluation. The
LogFrame is a participatory planning tool. Its power depends on the degree to
which it incorporates the full range of views of intended beneficiaries and
others that have a stake in the project design. It is a tool for summarising
the key features of a project design at the time of project identification
during preparation and appraisal. It is best used to help project designers and
stakeholders:
